- 32 FaberZooms 1.1.1.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 11-20-1993
- DESC: FaberZooms 1.1.1 - FaberZooms is a DarkSide of the Mac module.
- KEY: FaberZooms 1.1.1.sit KBytes: 10240
- DESC: DarkSide is a free, yet wonderful and non-obtrusive screen-saver
- DESC: from Tom Dowdy. This screen saver will not patch the Operating
- DESC: System, avoiding the dreaded conflicts you may have experienced
- DESC: with other screen savers. The algorithm I use is quite fast, but
- DESC: keep in mind that FaberZooms does not run as fast as it could. The
- DESC: Mac host might have useful calculations to do, so I gently
- DESC: "relinquish the processor". Version 1.1.1 is updated for use with
- DESC: DarkSide 4.1, and emits a sound while the rectangle moves.

- 31 FastFinder.sit 1 B AMUG BBS in a Box 04-25-1992
- DESC: FastFinder - contains modified CODE resources which increase the
- KEY: FastFinder.sit KBytes: 9216
- DESC: Finder's copy & move buffer, and a few other goodies. The two of
- DESC: most value here are the ones which increase the copy and move buffer
- DESC: size. 300 - 600% increase in copy & move speed. Use them at your
- DESC: own risk. The author includes a Read Me file to describe them and
- DESC: instruct you on how to install them.

- 29 Felix 1.1.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 08-26-1993
- DESC: Felix 1.1 - Felix is a control panel that allows you, when
- KEY: Felix 1.1.sit KBytes: 11264
- DESC: double-clicking on a document, to choose which application you want
- DESC: to use to open it. All you have to do is to maintain the Control
- DESC: key down while double-clicking. You will then be presented with a
- DESC: Standard File dialog prompting you for an application. The
- DESC: application you choose will then be launched and asked to open the
- DESC: document. If you choose "Cancel" in this dialog, the default (i.e.
- DESC: usual) application will be used. Felix requires System 7. To install
- DESC: it, just drop it into your Control Panel folder and restart. Felix
- DESC: is very small (about 12 kilobytes on disk and less than 512 bytes
- 28 File Browser.sit 5 B AMUG BBS in a Box 09-14-1991
- DESC: File Browser 1.0 is a very cool System 7 dependent application which
- KEY: File Browser.sit KBytes: 51200
- DESC: you can use to quickly examine the files and folders on any mounted
- DESC: disk. It is primarily intended for use by programmers but can be
- DESC: safely used by anyone--it doesn't modify the files you examine in
- DESC: any way. It's a browser, not an editor. This software is freeware.
- DESC: For more information, select the "More About File Browser..." item
- DESC: in the Balloon help menu in File Browser. By Ed Hall.
- 27 File Buddy 2.0.5.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-09-1994
- DESC: File Buddy 2.0.5 - File Buddy continues its tradition of making
- KEY: File Buddy 2.0.5.sit KBytes: 155648
- DESC: significant use of the drag&drop capability of System 7, offering
- DESC: two more options for dropped files, while at the same time
- DESC: providing better access to those who prefer to not use drop keys.
- DESC: Drop keys are user-configurable. File Buddy 2.05 provides four main
- DESC: areas of functionality - Get Info, file finding, file manipulation
- DESC: (moving, copying, and deleting), and disk cleaning. All are
- DESC: discussed in the documentation. File Buddy now has the ability to
- DESC: search disks for files and folders matching criteria you specifyin
- DESC: the File Buddy Find window. This is a MAJOR upgrade from 1.8.
- 26 File Kit 1.1.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 07-22-1992
- DESC: File Kit 1.1 - File Kit is a utility that performs several useful
- KEY: File Kit 1.1.sit KBytes: 32768
- DESC: tasks on files and alias files. 1. Locate the original file that an
- DESC: alias file describes, and display and change system information
- DESC: about the original file and the alias file. 2. Examine and change
- DESC: all system information about files, including file attributes that
- DESC: are new with system 7.0. The file information includes the File
- DESC: Type and File Creator, the size of the data and resource fork, and
- DESC: the fRefNum values for the data and resource fork (if they are
- DESC: open). 3. Examine information about volumes. This includes the total
- DESC: number of files on the volume, the volume block size, drive number,
- 25 File Readers.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-28-1992
- DESC: File Readers - This is an Application, with 'Drag and Drop'
- KEY: File Readers.sit KBytes: 55296
- DESC: features, that reads, using Macintalk, the text of any file dropped
- DESC: onto it and displays the text in LARGE type across the screen. It
- DESC: may be useful. Have your E mail files read to you while you drink
- DESC: coffee. Teach your parrot, or other pets, to speak like a computer.
- DESC: For System 7.0+ File_Reader II reads the text of the target file
- DESC: and shows it in LARGE typeacross the window. This application was
- DESC: written using the standard Units that came with Turbo Pascal. If it
- DESC: crashes, please let me know.
- DESC:
- 23 FileInfo.sit 2 B AMUG BBS in a Box 03-22-1992
- DESC: This control panel is a shareware utility (for System 7.0 or later)
- KEY: FileInfo.sit KBytes: 21504
- DESC: that expands the capability of the Finder's "Get Info" window by
- DESC: reporting additional information about files in the comment box.
- DESC: This information, normally hidden from users, includes the codes
- DESC: for the file type and file creator, and also various file
- DESC: attributes. With this utility, the information can also be seen by
- DESC: checking the "Show Comments" checkbox in the Views control panel
- DESC: (new with System 7.0) to cause the comments to appear when you view
- DESC: lists of files in the Finder.
- DESC:
- 20 FinderBar1.01.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-23-1992
- DESC: FinderBar1.01 - FinderBar is an Extension that installs a tool bar
- KEY: FinderBar1.01.sit KBytes: 32768
- DESC: in the Finder. With FinderBar, several of the Finder's routinely
- DESC: used menu commands are made easier to access. Most of the buttons
- DESC: duplicate the functionality of certain File menu commands, but
- DESC: there are also buttons to open the most frequently used control
- DESC: panels which come with System 7 (at least control panels that I
- DESC: personally find myself using with more fequency than others) as well
- DESC: as the major folders within the System Folder and the System Folder
- DESC: itself.
- DESC:
- 19 FinderCabinet.sit 2 B AMUG BBS in a Box 07-20-1991
- DESC: Finder Cabinet - This is a new version of my file for system 6. It
- KEY: FinderCabinet.sit KBytes: 5120
- DESC: includes a replacement desktop icon for system 7. A two-drawer
- DESC: cabinet, the lower drawer opens and closes and replaces the file
- DESC: folder icon which simply darkens when selected (ho-hum). You need
- DESC: ResEdit, and included is a short but instructive course on using it
- DESC: to modify both system 6 and system 7. As a little extra, you'll find
- DESC: a possible tip on switching drives, for those who have system 7 on
- DESC: a separate drive.

- DESC:
- 18 FinderCommands.sit 2 B AMUG BBS in a Box 08-28-1991
- DESC: Control panel device (CDev) that allows you to add command keys to
- KEY: FinderCommands.sit KBytes: 11264
- DESC: Finder 7's menus. Placing an alias of Finder Commands into the
- DESC: Startup Items folder will add your command keys at startup. Written
- DESC: by Bob Stuller.
- 17 FinderEdit.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 09-19-1992
- DESC: FinderEdit - FinderEdit is one of the most useful system 7 utility
- KEY: FinderEdit.sit KBytes: 27648
- DESC: applications I've ever come across. The author is Dan Weisman whom
- DESC: I've tried to get-a-hold through his internet address and failed.
- DESC: I took the liberty to modify it slightly to create an Icl8. The
- DESC: docs. give information on where to send the shareware contribution.
- DESC: FinderEdit allows the user to modify file mappings, change the font
- DESC: string, change alias styles, change information under the "get
- DESC: info" box, and add "Quit" commands to the finder. Obviously when
- DESC: it's in use it shuts off the finder so I don't recommend running
- DESC: any other applications in the background while FinderEdit is active.
- 16 FinderEvents.sit 2 B AMUG BBS in a Box 09-28-1991
- DESC: FinderEvents - Enclosed in this archive is a Hypercard (2.1) stack
- KEY: FinderEvents.sit KBytes: 26624
- DESC: which contains an XCMD (and it's source) which shows how to send all
- DESC: of the FinderEvents (ie. Apple events to the Finder). It was
- DESC: written by Jon Pugh the Apple events Registrar at Apple. XCMD,
- DESC: Pascal, Apple event, Finder, FinderEvents, AEVT, HC.

- 15 FinderToFront.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 03-26-1993
- DESC: FinderToFront - FinderToFront is a simple application that makes the
- KEY: FinderToFront.sit KBytes: 20480
- DESC: Finder be the front most application after startup. It is meant to
- DESC: be placed in the System 7 Startup folder and should be named so as
- DESC: to be the last application run. When this is done, FinderToFront
- DESC: makes the Finder the Front most application, then exits. This gets
- DESC: around the "problem" that the last application run at startup time
- DESC: is left in front and most of us want the Finder to be in front. If
- DESC: you run FinderToFront three minutes after startup time, it puts up
- DESC: a simple about dialog. Click on this dialog when you have seen
- DESC: enough.
- 12 FixIcons1.0d2.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-07-1993
- DESC: FixIcons1.0d2 - Fix Icons is an experimental utility to fix some
- KEY: FixIcons1.0d2.sit KBytes: 16384
- DESC: small, irritating problems that can sometimes happen with the
- DESC: desktop database. Sometimes an application may lose its icons. Or
- DESC: the icons may look OK, but you cannot drag and drop documents on
- DESC: top of the application that you know you should be able to. Or you
- DESC: might get a new version of the application, which has some new
- DESC: icons, but the Finder continues to display the old ones. The usual
- DESC: way to fix these problems is to rebuild the desktop database. Fix
- DESC: Icons lets you open any file which has a suite of icons associated
- DESC: with it, and fix the icons in a different way (read the
- 11 FlameFile 1.38.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 01-14-1994
- DESC: FlameFile 1.38 - This is the latest version of the drag-and-drop
- KEY: FlameFile 1.38.sit KBytes: 19456
- DESC: complete erase utility. FlameFile completely overwrites files and
- DESC: folders dragged on to it, making it impossible for snoops using file
- DESC: recovery utilities to recover your thrown-away files. Version 1.38
- DESC: adds DOD specification wipe. Fixes the "file flamed, but not
- DESC: disappeared" bug, and various disguising bugs. Icon now appears as
- DESC: it should. Version 1.31 added the ability to wipe-clean free space
- DESC: on a disk, the option of playing a sound when files are flamed, and
- DESC: support for AppleScript. Freeware. Requires System 7.
- DESC:
- 10 Fmap templates.sit 5 B AMUG BBS in a Box 04-29-1992
- DESC: Fmap templates - The 'fmap' resource in the Finder is the one that
- KEY: Fmap templates.sit KBytes: 3072
- DESC: sets an alternate application to open a document. Like opening any
- DESC: TEXT file with teachtext. You can, say, set the resource to open
- DESC: MacWrite files through Microsoft Word if the MacWrite app can't be
- DESC: found. Very handy. Knowlege of ResEdit required (definitly!)
- DESC: System 7 required.
- DESC:
- 7 FolderPICT 1.0.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 09-16-1993
- DESC: FolderPICT 1.0 - FolderPICT is one of those fun little applications
- KEY: FolderPICT 1.0.sit KBytes: 37888
- DESC: that makes no claims about increasing your productivity, because it
- DESC: won't. What it will do is let you display a picture of any size in
- DESC: any folder by converting the picture to a collection or mosaic of
- DESC: custom icons. It's fun to make a huge icon which consists of very
- DESC: close together folders! You could even mix up the folders and let
- DESC: someone solve the puzzle. Fun.
- 4 FontFaker71.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 02-05-1993
- DESC: FontFaker71 - FontFaker71 is a drag&drop application that converts
- KEY: FontFaker71.sit KBytes: 16384
- DESC: resource files like Fkeys and System 7 sound files so you can use
- DESC: them just by putting them in the System 7.1 Fonts folder. Makes any
- DESC: resource in a file always available. Will also restore file to
- DESC: original form whenever you wish.

- 3 Fonts & 7.1.sit 0 B AMUG BBS in a Box 12-23-1992
- DESC: Fonts & 7.1 - When I got System 7.1, I thought the days of suitcases
- KEY: Fonts & 7.1.sit KBytes: 5120
- DESC: and other troubles were over--I was wrong. I had a problem which
- DESC: temporarily stumped Apple's help line. If you use or plan to use
- DESC: System 7.1 with TrueType fonts, this small record of my discoveries
- DESC: may interest you.
